Today is the day.
Yes, after much much much procrastination I am finally here.
I was first introduced to it 3 years ago at a writing festival.

I am still hesitant about all of this BUT here goes……
In March my father- Bob – passed away quite suddenly. It was, and has been, heart breaking. He was my rock and I, well I was his Valencia Princess

This is because when I was due to enter this world I came in such a hurry that I was born under, yep you guessed it, an orange tree.  A Valencia Orange tree.

My dad was a very active 80 year old. He was left handed, could think outside the square and drop punt a football a good 50 metres +.  He was likeable, never thought wrong of any one and taught us to have scruples, morals, and never discriminate.   He was a very handy person who just liked being useful.

My father was a farmer and subsequently had a melanoma; like every one of his generation ( and lifestyle).

We were by his side when he passed away in the Oncology ward at the Geelong Hospital.  It all happened quickly over 4 days.

Anyway my father had a love of Australia, all things scottish – as he was a proud mclean from Isle of Skye ; 5 generations back. And travel.

This blog is my homage to a truly great man and country as i fulfill his desire to see the Stockmans Hall of Fame, Mount Isa and the Croydon to Normanton Gulflander rail .

I will be travelling with him, Molly and by 4wd to see this remarkable land of ours – Australia.

About Louise

I am a very young 53 year old. Like my star sign I am a typical Capricorn - tenacious, loyal, determined, honest, open minded, and dry sense of humour. I believe in astrology, intuition, spiritual matters and have a very healthy respect for all Buddhism. MY power number is 9. I was born at the end of a Dragon year. I am a very proud 5th generation Australian. I love to cook, read prolifically, write, and enjoy nature with all its wonderment. I love to cook especially for those who appreciate it. Like a great bottle of wine I am getting oh so much better with age. I have a natural curiosity and am constantly asking questions. I like to write and I wish I had become a librarian or researcher. Blogs help me get a "REAL FEEL" of what makes the world tick. Thank you every one for sharing.
