Yessiree !! Molly and I finally got to Broken Hill on friday the 24th. After a few( unnecessary stops) we travelled via the Silver City Hwy north from Mildura. The day was warmish ( 35 d or 92F) and just on 3 hours drive. A thunderstorm was in the offering but , alas, it was tricking my eyes as the heat permeated from the sky and the earth. In 1883 7 men from Mt Gipps station ( large farm) when what they thought was tin but actually was silver , was discovered . These 7 men formed the original BHP or BHP Billiton as known today. http://www.brokenhillaustralia.com.au
Molly and I are going to have a swim in the pool at caravan park then we will be off to see some of the interesting sites in the town and surrounding area. Including the Royal Flying Doctor Service RFDS and the All important School of the AIR.
